I was charged with second degree assault at eight months pregnant when my bf at the time called me the N word and I shoved him on the chest. He lied and things were really difficult before and after the pregnancy. When I went to this law firm, they were really nice and worked with me throughout the whole process. I’m posting this review as John Doe to be anonymous to the world but want to leave a concise, truthful, and important review about Shapiro Zwanetz and Associates. I waited a bit to write this review and I will try to keep this short with as much detail as possible. I was basically alleged of severe crimes and the police department started an investigation. It was shocking to my family and friends and it disrupted and almost destroyed my way of life. The police raided my home and looked for evidence to support the allegations. From the start, I was respectful and denied these allegations and I was extremely cooperative and answered all questions since I knew I was innocent and have nothing to hide. After many months, nothing came about to support the allegations but the detectives thought they had something and arrested me with several charges that would have put me behind bars for a very long time. It was shocking, traumatic, and an extremely difficult time for my family and friends. I had Shapiro Zwanetz come on board late in the game to fight for my innocence and boy did they fight. I had the pleasure of working with one main lawyer, who led the fight and started engaging with his team. I won’t put his name out but he knows who he is. I’ve never met anyone so detailed and thorough. It was as if he was not a lawyer but a FBI investigator and he started looking at everything with a fine comb and an enormous magnifying glass. Once he saw the files from the detectives, he saw there were some serious lack of duties performed by the detectives and the entire investigation was poorly done. It was as if the detectives believed I was guilty from the start and only looked for what they could prove to make me guilty instead of looking to see the truth of the entire matter. The Shapiro Zwanetz lawyer stepped in, went to court and requested an extension to give him a little extra time to prepare and it was approved. Then this law office when into red alert, paused just about everything they had and tackled my case to prove my innocence. The lawyer and his team looked at everything from day one of the alleged crime, the location of where I was, the bystanders, the friends I was with, the exact time of what the accuser stated, to the exact time I stated, and the exact time my friends stated and locations of everyone within the several days. Then he went through whatever evidence that was provided and he broke those down to get a clear picture. If you go into this lawyer’s office, he has a giant white board that he uses for several cases. He erased everything and put my entire case on it as if it was some sort of equation and scene from the movie “the accountant”. I felt I was watching a movie as he was locating the criminal. At the end of the day, he stated “the devil is in the details”. After a month, he was able to prove the lack of investigation and had over 15 alibis to prove my innocence. What’s even more amazing is he also took the steps to show additional alibis for many different days and scenarios, if the accuser decided to change the story, which he expected, and provided a detailed report to the county. After many back and forth discussions, the county dismissed the case and the police expunged my records. This lawyer and is team did an unbelievable and most impossible task in such a short amount of time, and in my eyes, they performed an operation that many do not know about and did not receive any recognition for. At the end of the day, they were just happy for my family and I, and were proud to support someone who was innocent. I can’t thank them enough and usually I don’t say this to anyone but they saved my life and the life of my family. I would not be where I am today if this lawyer and his team didn’t accomplish the impossible. Most importantly, the fees were more than appropriate and they were extremely generous with their time. I highly recommend this law office and their staff. Anyone reading this is hopefully not in a similar situation but if you are, Shapiro Zwanetz is the go to. Trust me, it saved my life.

Before meeting with David, I was nervous because I heard horror stories of lawyers dragging the case and charging more, and actually my phone conversations with other lawyers seem to prove there is some truth. However, when I met David I knew I met the right lawyer. He wasn't concernee about how long my story was going to take. He wanted to know every bit of detail in our initial consultation. Not only this David knew exactly what to do in every situation. He had all charges completely dropped, worked extensively to get the right people engaged. David worked for us like a family member.
