I have worked with Ashley Ward for over a year now and she is by far the best attorney I have ever had. Ashley is an attorney that is amazing!!!! I have had a lot of attorneys but none come close to Ashley. She is a straight shooter and tells you like it is and keeps you informed every step of the way. Cordell and Cordell are not a law firm for Men as they erroneously advertise. Their firm does not take the proper time to review your case and properly assist you with your preparation. I had been advised that I would not need to move and sell my house for months. 48hours prior to court I was then advised that Cordell and Cordell did not know how much money was left on the house and that I would have to sell. Then my lawyer could not be at the court. To follow up her replacement took the opposing lawyer's side with the matters and told me I should give up more property if "I loved my children". Then having told Cordell and Cordell of my bankruptcy they failed to review if there were any liens on the house. I had a buyer and had to pass. No I am filing a malpractice suit against due to obvious lack of preparation, knowledge, experience, customer care, and professionalism. Remember Never use a lawyer that advertises! Save your money and hire professionals. Had to do 1 star so I could actually post this. Scott C. The only reason I went there is because I had previously worked with one of their lawyers and it was an absolutely incredible experience. I called that same lady directly at her line and she told me to come straight in. When I got there it was a different law firm. No problem, because I was there for her. Not the law firm. She was great. After meeting with her briefly, when I was leaving, I was stopped by the receptionist. She then informed me that it would be a $100 fee for today. I told her that no one had told me that, and that the website showed there being free consultation. She said that it must have been her previous law firm, but I pulled it up on my phone and showed her the website itself showing that there was free consultation at Cordell & Cordell. She said that it was wrong and that I needed to pay the $100. I told her that it was poor customer service and that I wasn't paying it because no one told me and they were falsely advertising. It's sad, because I was going to give them my business simply so I can deal with the aforementioned lawyer. Now I'm not just upset about the unprofessional behavior, but not being able to work with my lawyer. The lady at the desk was Very rude and nasty! Being in the customer service industry myself, I know this is unacceptable! Do NOT deal with this law firm!

A very great lawfirm, you get quick response all the time from your attorney. Maureen Beery is an outstanding attorney.

I sought the help of this law firm to assist with a mutual parenting agreement. The attorney was inefficient and sloppy, and required many more interactions via email than what a simple agreement between two people should have cost.

The attorneys would have "strategy conferences" ,which turned out to be their gossip with Starbucks meetings between the girls. It feels like I dealt with an entity engaging in fraud. They took me for over $2600. Another attorney scoffed at their attempt to produce a legitimate mutual parenting agreement.

I would steer clear, and find a credible law firm/attorney thru your local Bar Association.

Another Dad added, "they'll drag it out until you're flat broke", and I was lucky by getting the vibe that they weren't concerned with resolving this before I was bankrupt.

No one at Cordell & Cordell ever showed that they would fight for me in shining armour. Beware!

Do yourself a favor and don't do it. So much time and money wasted. I even had to transfer to a different lawyer because the 1st one was so incompetent. They don't care about you or your situation. Only how they can drag it out as long as possible until your flat broke, then they'll drag it out some more. Please don't do what I did and end up in the same situation. You'll regret making the decision. That I can promise you.

This place is an absolute rip off. Do not waste your hard earned money on these inexperienced lawyers. My lawyer was unprepared and not only did the judge award my ex everything she wanted they added extra money to my child support. My ex has zero bills, has a trust fund, doesn't work, and has a free 8 bedroom house with a swimming pool in the backyard that she OWNS free and clear. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment and at the time of the case was living paycheck to paycheck, and I pick my kids up 2x week but somehow Im padding my ex's bank account because my lawyer was awful. They also threw in extra fees claiming the lawyer was preparing etc...but you could tell she took zero time and zero effort in my case. Wish I could give them zero stars.

She has a lot of courtroom experience. She also had to represent me in an adversarial hearing with my world on the line and exposed my ex as a liar on the stand getting the matter dismissed without needing to put on a defense.
She will let you know what she thinks without a lot of wish washy hedging so you know where you stand.
