Following My aunt's passing, as personal rep I needed to deal with the sale of 2 homes, one in PA where my aunt lived (and where her attorney practiced), one in MD that is occupied by a renter. I live in WV. No problem with the PA home BUT as my husband and I anticipated, the home in Baltimore will be very problematic. We needed an attorney but had no idea who to contact. My husband Greg decided we should give Heise & Heise a try due to their high rating on the web. Todd and I have communicated via phone and email over the past 2 weeks. My initial call consisted of leaving message for call-back. No waiting there. Todd spent at least 20-30 min on the phone with me. He discovered that the property was deeded as an estate trust, then he proceeded to educate me on steps I need to consider before I'll be able to sell. He introduced me to terms like amendment, restatement, successor trustee. Unfortunately, before a sale can happen, I need to remove the non-paying renter from the home. Evictions is an area in real estate that H&H does not deal with but Todd would not leave me hanging. He referred us to another professional who can help us. My stress level has taken a nosedive now that I know I'm not in this mess alone and unarmed with the expertise we're going to need. What impressed me most about Todd was 1) no worrying and wondering when you will get that call-back, 2) there is no rush through a conversation to provide and obtain all necessary information, 3) you're treated with respect and honest concern to help with your unique situation.

Contracted Todd Heise to proofread a standard Maryland real estate contract submitted buy a buyer's agent on my for-sale-by-owner(FSBO) property to make it as close as possible to an as-is contract and limit my sellers liability. For $450 I got a very thorough and professional review with detailed highlights in an email to consider for changes in language and addendums to the contract. After the changes were submitted and corrected by the buyer's agent Todd then did a cursory review and indicated that it should suit my needs. Having survived the successful signing of the contract and settlement, I look back and should have paid for an additional thorough screening for my own emotional well being and possibly paid to have him review the documents at settlement to make it that much more comfortable of an event but survived despite that :-) The past 3 weeks of dealing with this property contract has greatly disturbed my peace and harmony but thanks to Todd it got resolved at least a third easier than it would have been without his expertise and professional help. He seems to take a genuine personal interest and makes you comfortable with the legal process of your situation. I would definitely hire him again for a real estate contract or other standardized legal situation.
