Paid on my debt for 2 years, missed some payments because my wife got sick and had to quite her job. No notice, no phone calls, no court papers no nothing and they garnished my bank account drained every last penny, then turned around and hit me with wage garnishment... Now my account manager and the lawyer on the case will not return my phone calls. They are heartless and completely unwilling to work with you. Had to borrow money to pay my rent and now I don't know what I am going to do to pay my bills. Completely screwed me, because of companies like this people go homeless and they could care less all they want is their money.

This so called law firm is really just a collection agency that uses extortion tactics to scare people into paying them. They also try to collect on accounts that were paid in full to them years prior. They have done this to both my mother and I. They have a number of class action lawsuits against them for this.

Always friendly and answers all my questions open to payment arrangements and helpful! They give you plenty of time to pay your debt and always give people many chances to pay before they file a judgment!! Pick up the phone and make an arrangement you owe the debt so deal with your Bill's!

After reading the numerous reviews of people who just paid it after being harassed and my own experience (below)... it’s clear these are con artists.

Other people explain how their bank accounts are completely drained, once paid other collectors have no record of it, even their client wrote the debt was never collected. DONT PAY THEM ANYTHING!!!! THEY ARENT A REAL COLLECTION AGENCY. I will be reporting to police. Please do the same.

They fake “summoned” me and I quickly realized they “summoned” the wrong person. The name isn’t mine on ANY of the papers stapled in the packet with fake documents: blank forms, payment receipts with no account numbers or names, copy and pasted signatures of lawyers on official court documents. Careful with their wording to avoid illegal representation of court documents. They must be getting desperate for business. Scarring people into making blind payments is their business plan. This Unreal. Oh and btw, the review right below mine of the employee was the “postal worker” who delivered bogus court papers. If anyone hires this agency to collect on debt, you are wasting your money. Not only will they deliver it to THE WRONG PERSON but they are borderline illegal and desperate. I didn’t have to write this review... It was clearly not intended for me but the fact that they are doing this to people is outraging.

I paid a debt with them and the representative, Dudley, taunted me because I made a mistake on the payment date. The people here are very unprofessional and cruel.

I've been working here for Two years now and let me say that of course people are not going to be happy about having to deal with our company; the whole point of a judgment against someone is to collect on a debt that they didn't want to pay or didn't pay. But we always try to work with people. I work in the Garnishments department so I know when someone calls in and really tries to work out something and stick to what they agree upon we will release a garnishments. I love this company. I love the culture and I love our mission. Everyone who works here wants to help where ever they can. We as a whole ALWAYS DO WHAT'S RIGHT!!!

I just finished paying off my debt about 3 weeks ago. They never closed out my account or even noted that payments should stop. I called in the morning and the lady said "I'll close it out now, if you get approval we will mail you a check." then hung up on me. This firm is very unprofessional.

These people are garnishing my wages on a stunt loan that was paid off over two years ago.I sent them proof of the debt being paid and they continue to do so. Now the attorney is no longer returned any of my phone calls or respond to any of my emails I went back to court to fill an objection and was grated the court date I then received a letter from McCall and Johanna stating they want to resolve this out of the hearing. I have made several attempt to contact the lawyer again and still no response. So the 13 of September it is. Why is there no way to reply to others that have posted reviews on here? Why does McCall and Johanna have that feature turned off? Do they have something to hind ? Are they afraid that if we all get together we could do something to them? We need to start filling stuff with the state and having these peoples law license looked at and maybe even some of these attorneys need to have their license repermend. It doesn't take a rock scientist to know that you can't take money on a bill that has been paid in full. You know as well as I do that's BREAKING THE LAW and it's called double dipping. Look it up

They never got a hold of me personally. Harassed my parents with phone calls. Never got anything in the mail from them either. Now today they send a process server to my house to serve me with papers. This woman was extremely rude and was yelling into my window when I didn't answer the door, and even tried getting my 8 year old special needs son to open the door to her, the person that was with her even lied and said that my son opened the door and told them I was home. Umm, no he did not, I was in the next room and heard everything she said. I understand I owed money and they were just doing their job, but this woman had no business yelling into my window and trying to get my kid to open the door to a stranger. She said she'd tell the judge that I was uncooperative and I told her that I'd tell them she was a rude b!/(#. I paid the debt online and got a confirmation number so hopefully they'll stop harassing my parents and me.

I went to pay a $150 bill for a tenant. I called 7 times and continued to be caught in an endless loop: It asks for a series of questions, I answer, I get a message, you cannot be transferred to that extension and then the phone just rings endlessly or says we are sorry we are having system issues. Also, the website was equally as useless: I clearly had the necessary file number, property address and it still wouldn't work

I’ve been calling and calling and they keep hanging up on me and won’t let me give them my Bankruptcy information. My guess is Becca they want to freeze my accounts and as long as they don’t have the information, they “don’t know” and will do so. I already removed everything out of my accounts, so it’s ok for y’all to take my information now! File# 50578969. Call me as if you were trying to collect a debt!

Without any notice....they grabbed my entire bank account on Friday. Now I can't get them on the phone. They were suppose to set up a monthly payment. I literally had to borrow money to buy food for my family. Horrible people.

Uhm?? No. Avoid at all costs and do not ever talk to these folks. They attempted to collect an old debt from my brother but not the right way, they pretty much threaten everyone and make them pay out of force. I didn't let my brother do that and fall for their tricks. There is not a single person in this company that helped me understand why the debt was owed or why my brother was about to be sued. No details, no explanation, nothing... This is by far one of the worst collection companies or law firm. Either way, it's a horrible horrible place to be. They scam you and they're not trustable at all. Do not waste your valuable time here. I guarantee you will regret it!

Had ZERO problem taking my money, account is paid in full and closed for over a month but haven’t received any letter saying so. Called to request a letter weeks ago, NOTHING! So I call back and I am called a liar!!!

The second set of people I talked to were really helpful, I was in a high stress situation within my life and the young man became concerned about what I was saying so the sup came on and wow he really was a HUGE life safer! Thank you again so much I didn't expect that much help but it's so appreciated!!!

I feel as a one star isn’t even deserved for this company. I’m typically the nicest person on the planet to talk to other people. This company seemed to not help me with anything. I just had a simple question and it was answered with attitude. Such as excuses for having computer issues and trying to have her listen instead of rushing and acting like she wasn’t. I honestly say for anyone who has posted a good review. I feel as if they’re lies. I never write bad reviews or anything but I feel like they were so rude to answer a simple question. I never want to deal with this company and feel bad for anyone who has too. This place is horrible and rude.

In 2010 we nearly declared Chapter 7, and in hindsight I wish we had. But a number of my accounts gone bad ended up here for both my wife and I. We are still paying on one 9 years later. My entire experience with these people has been fair, polite, and honest. In fact because of that I believe they actually got a better settlement out of us because of their civility.

They are a collector, but they are great to work with and easy going staff!

I sleep great. In fact, I also pay my bills too. Sooooo weird that you accumulate a debt you should have to pay. What a crazy world

Not helpful at all

I’m a veteran that because of mental health became homeless and struggled to get back on my feet for a year. I finally have found a place to live and tried to rectify debts that a friend I trusted screwed me with. I called them to notify them of this and then they lied to the judge about things agreed upon. I have tried to contact them 6 times and no one has answer, or “their managers can’t talk”, they keep me on hold, or they just never pick up. This organization has blatantly sabotaged any attempt I have made to try and figure anything out.

Paid my debt in full r months ago they never reported it to the credit bureaus.

What I find interesting and absolutely a complete scam these people had my paycheck my garnished without validation or without serving me. So I spoke to a manager 2 weeks ago and he actually told me there company has the highest of integrity. And they would stop collection. So as I check today of course knowing they would not have fixed it. Giving the benefit of the doubt though I'm glad they continued. Had they really been honest an done this correctly I would have always taken care of my debt if I owe it. Now I have a case against them . Basically this company can make an accusation that you owe money. Then make up they served you with papers and take your money. Souds like integrity to me. In fact the manager tried to give a description of me and the the day they served me. Both were wrong. They write there own check on there behalf. I have had 2 strokes in the past and it's hard enough to work. So machol & Johannes being a company that discriminates against disabled it's time to take a stand. For those that are having the same issues I will follow up with this daily. I will give you the name of the law firm I will be using and let's stop them.

Incompetent, scummy scam artists. They filed a wage garnishment against me for a student loan that was paid in full years ago. Sketchy company if there ever was one. If this happens to the rest of you, I highly suggest filling a complaint against them with the State of Colorado Attorney General's office, as I am.

I would just like to get in contact with someone since I've never received a call, mail, or email and all of a sudden received a summons. Your main number doesnt work and your other number doesnt get your to a representative. That's not exactly legal. You guys unfortunately served a legal assistant for debt collections. I know everything you can and cannot do. This is not going to be a fun process for anyone if I cant even try and resolve my acct. *** fdcpa you are required to provide me with a validation letter before demanding payment*** not to mention pima has the balance wrong and I have that paperwork to prove so. ‍♀️ guess I'll file my answer and make you look dumb in court.

I was making payments for about a year and apparently they changed vendors who is responsible for their payments. My account was one of the MANY that didn't carry over when they switched. This resulted in my automatic payments not going through and them placing a hold on my bank account leaving me with zero money for about a week. I had to call more than once a day to see what was going on with this and never got an answer until they blamed it on the company who processes their payments....and now they're trying to make me responsible for legal fees associated with this issues. seriously?

Do yourself a favor if you are ever contacted from them about money pay it right away so there isn't a chance of anything similar happening to you. Also if you do business with them, shame on you because they are a bunch of crooks who do not know how to run a legitimate business.

Jessica (and only Jessica) is very helpful and understanding. Although it’s impossible to get anyone on the phone, I was able to get ahold of her, and she has helped me tremendously. My review changed from a 1 Star because of her help.

This is the worst business/company that I have ever dealt with. It's impossible to get ahold of someone here. They leave me on hold for over 10 minutes only to disconnect the call. So I emailed them and they send one word responses or don't reply back at all. It's frustrating just dealing with them! I'd leave 0 stars if I could.

Wont let me give zero stars. They are charging me for a debit already paid, then they added cort costs to it. Screw these people! A law firm and a collection agency....conflict of intrest. Filled with the BBB and got myself a real lawer.....I will go to the ends of the earth to not deal with these people!!! What trash and scum!!! Hope you all burn.

I have been paying one of my debts through a different collecting company. Almost done paying it off too. Then all of sudden Machol and Johannes demands me to pay them for the same debt I'm already almost paying off. I called the collection company I've been paying. They told me that this Machol and Johannes is fraud, they purchased my debt from another place. I even sent Machol and Johannes the agreement letter I have with the other debt collection company and they never replied back and ignored me. Now they filed a judgement on me. I'll be contacting the BBB about this.

Clark called our home very rude left a message but in regards to no one. However, did say a debit collection. Returned their phone call and wouldn't give any info, VERY UNPROFRSSIONAL to leave info on a voicemail but not when speaking on the phone. Made another phone call and was told pur phone number just popped up in their system and that they were looking for a different person with the same name. Spoke to a lady who threatened we were being recorded. We are trying to figure out if this is a scam, very weird behaviors from all who work here. Was given the name Chris Smith as a floor manager but unable to get in touch With. Be careful all this company is a huge red flag and will be reporting.

I figure interaction with a debt collector is stressful for both parties. As someone who has payment arrangements from 6 companies at the moment and has had previously had garnishments from my paychecks, I deal with a lot of collectors. I would like to state that out of all of them, Machol and Johannes has sincere people working for them. They understood my position at this moment and accepted my payment arrangement. I highly recommend them!

Had a garnishment of 2000 thought everything was taken care of when I signed work garnishment papers but yet the manager told me they weren't getting payments (6 months later) Wouldn't you call somebody? Nope. The man with the cocky attitude called me a liar saying I never received or signed garnishment papers. After they zeroed my account out I tried to make reasons and set up a payment plan so this never happens again! Gabriella the manager told me they had to get permission from my bank for me to have a payment plan which is completely false! Name calling indivduals that sit behind a desk making 10 bucks an hour to insult people! Definitely go against them and pay the courts the 200 fee to take them to court! Always record your calls so the judge can see how you're talked to and so they can also hear false information that they're providing!

First of all customer service is non existent here, second, why is it you can't get a straight answer from anyone "except" the account executive?? Wow, I didn't even know I had an account with you??? I have to speak to a person to make a payment (the online payment does not accept AMEX and the automated system can never find me) and it is annoying. For a debt collector, the company does not make it easy to take the payment. Very frustrating...

These people need to be shut down, for financial, unethical, and corrupt legal practices-Shut them down soon. Get the feds involved.

Another corrupt collection lawyer. Absolutely crooked. Had a garnishment filed on me for $9000+, and now after a year of paying (over $6000) they are re-filing that I still owe $8837.03!!! I am going to file a formal complaint against this law firm when I go down to the court on this issue.

Unethical and illegal collection practices. Verbally abusive.
Aside from that, they also engage in legally sanctioned financial rape. Had a $2000 debt sent to them for collecting. They are seeking $30,000 from me. Enjoy talking to my bankruptcy attorney, guys.
