I’ve just visited Bergen County Camera for the first time, having just discovered it. I was having a power issue with my camera and brought it over to them, thinking I’ll need to send it out for repair, but they suggested just do a factory reset and that seemed to solve the problem and leave me shaking my head at myself for not thinking of doing that myself. But I’m glad I discovered them for my future photography needs. Thanks guys.

We are certainly convinced that if we or anyone else who is technically challenged when it comes to your photographic needs, BCC is the place to go.We were greeted by Bob who gave generously of his time and explained everything we wanted to know.
I have owned this particular camera for years and never could follow the directions to get the capabilities of the piece.
Bob fixed that problem with great patience.Believe me as one who knows, you could never get this kind of support over the phone or at one of the giant photo places in NYC.

Service, service, service is what you will get at Bergen County Camera. No question goes unanswered since their competent staff has been there what seems to be forever. Honest answers, complete information and never pressuring (what a relief), their staff can fix most problems on the spot, or if you are in a real bind can answer your questions on the phone.

Abby is wonderful with her photoshop talents which we all need when we have important events.

Nice selection but everything is cheaper online

Alan Schwab was very informative and went out if his way comparing different high end cameras Soni could get a firm grasp of the benefits of the canon I was interested in. He never pressured me and let me handle any camera he had, they also do loaners if you want to try one out but only to people who live in Bergen county, which info not.

It really is the best camera store in Bergen County...so helpful, very knowledgeable and they don't try to upsell you on everything. Plus, they offer so much more, like classes, repairs, all types of other photo-related services and, one of my favorites, free Saturday morning seminars...go, you won't be disappointed!

Don't bother with rentals if you don't have a NEW JERSEY driver's license. Called up Bergen County Camera a week before trying to make a rental. Person I spoke to on the phone was helpful and reserved requested camera equipment (however there was no mention of a NJ license requirement). A week later I arrived to pick up my weekend's rentals and was given a hard time over my New York State Driver's license. Employee told me they only rent to people from NJ, and sometimes people from Rockland county. I explained I actually lived in Rockland county, which is why I came to this rental location, but because I had only recently moved, my license still had me registered to an adjacent county (Putnam). Regardless, the employee continued to give me a hard time about my license and ultimately refused to rent me the equipment on the grounds of my license and the fact that he was concerned that the debit card I was going to use to pay with, would cap how much money they could claim in the event that I stole the rental equipment.

The kicker of the whole situation was that that evening, I was traveling several hours upstate to photograph a wedding scheduled for the next morning. I was really relying on this rental equipment to do my job properly, and Bergen County Camera let me down in a big way. I don't know whether these are legitimate store policies in NJ or just the manifestation of some (as a young person) ageist or (as a NYS resident) provincialist prejudice, but either way it's disappointing that employees of a camera store, aren't aiming to foster the growth of a (at the very least tri-state) network of professional photographers.

We went about 2 weeks ago looking at bridge cameras. Paul was very helpful and pointed out a camera that would suit our needs as we are going on vacation in a couple of months and wanted a more advanced camera than a 'point and shoot' or using our phones. He placed us on the list for the camera that we wanted and within a few days the camera arrived, and the next weekend we went to pick it up.

When we arrived, he gave us a crash course in SD cards, and the camera's abilities from top to bottom. You don't get that sort of service at the big box stores. If you are looking for a camera, whether it's point and shoot, SLR, or bridge, I would suggest that you avoid Best Buy, Target, Walmart, etc, and go to Bergen County Camera, it is worth it.

This is a real camera store, staffed by real photographers! They support what they sell so you have a real person to go back to and ask questions. Such places are getting hard to find. Check them out!

Great staff. Today I attended the Saturday Beach Photography Focus session, Paul, John and the others did an excellent job. I picked up quite a few tips for taking pictures at the beach and during sunrise and sunset.
I went back later in the day to purchase a polarizing filter. Bob, one of the owners took the time to explain how to properly use the filter and even took me outside the store to show me how it is used. He then proceeded to show me how to use my camera on the "P" (Nikon D7100) mode and how to make adjustments using the aperture, shutter speed and ISO settings.
I will definitely become a regular customer.

I recently visited this incredible location, where I bought a beautiful Sony camera with all the lenses I needed, camera case and anything else that was needed to be set for photographic endeavors. I originally thought that I could get the best deal online with the usual websites and online retailers. Let me tell you, there is no personal service and attention with online retailers. Instead I called this esteemed establishment, got Bob Garamegna, one of the owners on the phone, who was recommended to me. He spent quite a bit of time reassuring me that he could help me to make the right choices. I drove almost 50 miles to Bergen County Camera and met with Bob. Here’s a man who clearly understands customer care, and attention to giving the customer exactly what is needed. Bob spent 1.5 hours with me just on explaining to me the ins and outs of the camera, and not once did he try to upsell me, but rather, taught me everything I needed to know about my new equipment. I wish I could give Bob and his business an “infinity” on star rating! He not only matched the price of any online retailers, but beat them! Customer service is not available with any online retailer, instead Bob was careful to go through every feature on my camera. I got equipment and a 1.5 hour class on “how to” make the best of what I was buying. Bergen County Camera was recommended to me by a friend, who got it from another friend….this is how you do business. Bob, you’re an ace of a guy! Love your store and everyone in it. We were treated like old friends and VIP’s, just call and see for yourself. Thank you.

Excellent camera store that is more accessible than those in NY. Very comprehensive inventory of camera and lenses and the staff is very professional and knowledgeable. Plenty of street parking is available and if you are visiting, Westwood is a nice town to walk around in and grab a bite to eat.

I needed my Canon camera repaired so, in my search I found Bergen County Camera. I sent in a contact request stating what my needs were. I got an email from one employee, saying that I can come in anytime because they do Canon repairs. Then the next day I got another email from a completely different person saying that they don't do repairs and will send it to Canon on my behalf...As someone who's worked in Management, Retail, and Customer Service for a long time, I can tell you this is lack of training and poor communication among the staff. Everyone needs to be informed of the proper protocols and have the correct information. It looks very bad when two employees give you two different answers, it creates a trust issue. These are expensive cameras, and also, I live far away from the location. My suggestion to any future customer would be to double check that the information they give you is correct and consistent.

Incredibly helpful, friendly, and most importantly, knowledgeable staff! They also offer a great program that allows you to rent unique or expensive specialty lenses and then allow you to that rental fee over to the purchase of the lens is you liked it!
