I have nothing but positive things to say about the way Michael O’Meara treated me and handled my case. I got a DUI while in college 14 years ago. I was facing having to throw out 12 years of hard work and advancement and start my career over in a different field that did not require travel. The stakes were very high.

Mike fully understood the magnitude of this. He listened to me walk through the events that took place, reviewed the evidence, and didn't judge me at any point. He was honest, did not sugarcoat anything, and talked about the facts while laying out all of the possible outcomes, good and bad. He was fully willing to go to trial if that turned out to be the right option.

Mike’s scheduling flexibility was incredible. He was always willing to make himself available based on my schedule, which oftentimes was not until late in the evening. I had many court appearances down south and Mike traveled down there for each one of them. Mike 100% always did what would result in the best possible outcome for me, even if it resulted in more court appearances.

As it turned out, the case wasn’t looking good for me. I refused the breathalyzer, but performed the field sobriety tests, and not very well. Mike, in a county that is extremely tough on DUI cases, was able to negotiate a deal with the prosecutor that resulted in the charge against me being reduced to reckless driving, to which I plead guilty and received court supervision (along with fines, DUI counseling, etc).

This reduction was huge for me, as it meant that my license wouldn’t be revoked. I'd been driving with a BAIID device during my summary suspension and since the charge was reduced, I’m allowed to continue to drive freely using the device until the suspension is over at which point I no longer need the device and my license will be fully reinstated. In addition, I was dreading throughout the entire process the prospect of having to complete over 200 hours of community service (if not jail time), but there was no community service required as part of the deal.

Because of all this, I have been able to continue at my job, and my license will be fully reinstated in a few months. This was the best outcome I could have hoped for given the situation. The impact of this experience on my life has been significant, but would have been a lot worse if it were not for Mike. I cannot overstate what an incredible job Michael O’Meara did handling my case, am forever grateful to him, and will be recommending him any time I have a friend or family member in need of a good defense attorney.

Great attorney. I was being charged with a misdemeanor for having a replica gun in my car and got 5 traffic violation tickets. He was very thorough throughout the whole case, explaining to me the possible outcomes of the case. If you're reading this right now, chances are that you're unfortunately doing your research on deciding which lawyer should represent you with driving under the influence. It's a nightmare. As someone with a prior DUI, and a laundry list of other citations and arrests, I was sure that my life and career were over with getting a second DUI. I know that Michael O'Meara is the lawyer you need to hire if you want the best possible outcome. Here is my story:

Late one night I was out with a friend in Glen Ellen of DuPage County. I had some drinks and got behind the wheel of my car. I made a poor decision, thinking nobody was watching me, but sure enough Mr. Law was sitting blocks away. Of course I got pulled over and asked to perform a sobriety test. The police officer made his decision that I was intoxicated and he asked me to take a breathalyzer. I refused. Handcuffed...car towed...my life was turned upside down.

The day after my arrest I was googling non-stop of what was going to happen to me. I was losing my mind. Since I had a DUI 10 years prior I knew I just turned down a long road and there was no turning back. So, first things first, get a lawyer. I was not happy with the lawyer on my first DUI case 10 years ago when I was 18.

28 years old now, and a job that requires a license, my livelihood and career were completely at stake with little options to fall back on. Michael was the go to guy after researching several criminal lawyers in the Chicago land area. Someone close to me needed a lawyer to represent him after being charged with a misdemeanor. I used Michael O’Meara’s services for my third DUI. When I contacted Michael for counsel and he was very direct and clear on all of the possibilities and consequences and how different scenarios could possibly play out up front. As a first time DUI offender I had zero clue what to do. The evidence against me was very strong. Based on Internet research I conducted before seeking an attorney I concluded that I was facing 1 year in jail, fines of $2,500, loss of my license for a full year, along with other various penalties and fines. I turned to friends who "knew a guy who knew a guy" to find representation. I met with 2 different lawyers, showed them both my charges, and told them my story. As I'm typing this, I no longer require a lawyer to pursue and complete the court mandated agreements of my case. I have paid Mike in full and he has no further obligation to me. Having said that, I've been having problems with trying to fulfill my minimum court mandated requirements.
