When I asked questions I had about their retainer agreement before signing it, I was treated like I was wasting their time, and they said they weren't willing to represent me any longer. I had questions about the agreement I was asked to sign because it says the law firm can be entitled to everything that is won in the case plus the out of pocket expenses of the firm and no limit was mentioned. So I asked why would I sign this? Why would this be beneficial to me? As a consumer protection law firm, could you please explain why a consumer who asks you for help could potentially end up OWING your firm money even if the case is won? The man I spoke with agreed the language read that way, and offered to change it to no more than 50% of the recovery plus all out of pocket expenses. So then I asked, well what kind of out of pocket expenses? I guess most clients don't read and don't ask a lot of questions, but I'm not most people. I just went through the MVA to start an investigation and my investigator is doing a good job. I'm happy I didn't decide to work with this firm.
