Culver was very easy to deal with and made the whole process very smooth. He gave me some “homework” to do and that safed me a fair amout, he never tried to extend the pocess and gave some great advises.

I chose this law firm due to all the five star reviews....my husband and his crazy ex-wife have been divorced for over three years. Before the divorce finalized, his "wife" chose to say she didn't have a blue folder of importance and value only to my husband just to spite him for leaving her. As of today, she left a message for him offering to meet him at the storage unit where she believes the folder is as she claims it's not in the house that my husband's name is still linked to, again no thanks to this joke of a law firm.....so after all this time, she lied and lied and lied to get what she wanted out of everything. This law firm not only did not do enough to ensure everything went smoothly during this divorce, my husband's name is still linked to the house, but it seems not for very much longer thankfully, but the proof has finally surfaced with the folder. Once my husband's son goes for his divorce, this law firm will not even be thought of for consideration. I strongly recommend anyone thinking this law firm is potentially worth the while to look elsewhere. Get AS MANY CONSULTATIONS AS YOU CAN AND GO WITH WHAT FEELS LIKE THE BEST CHOICE! Stay away from this firm and save as much of your money from these greedy idiots as you can.

Came to this guy for mediation during the divorce. He told me, in front of my ex that if I came to him to represent me for divorce, he would have kicked me out, since my son was so small. I did not use this law firm for my divorce (but wished that I had! Let's just say that I spent about $80,000 dollars on a different lawyer three years ago- last name Stoorman- that did not represent me well, nor did we even go to court)....anyway, I have dealt with at least 3 different lawyers through my life and this firm is reputable and more helpful than any I have met in the past. I came to them and as a free consult. I learned more than I have with any other lawyer. I will use them in any future dealings as needed.

They did a descent job and I won my case, but that was purely because I had a solid case and legal recourse was a formality. Most of the lawyers work as sub-contractors. Communication was not the best. On the first meeting I saw Culver making side deals with some guys that did not strike a lot of confidence, also on the first meeting I asked for 2 outcomes: school districting and legal bill recouperation. They both said that would work. After sometime I got the legal draft and I noticed the legal bill recouperation was not part of it, when I asked about it they said I had to go a different route and it was too late to change. Very disappointed. Sure I had some issues as the relationship with my ex was at a very low point, but geeze for the amount of money this firm costs a person should expect better.

O.K. It's as simple as this. If you come across a family law attorney who works with you to try to help you as a human being like this guy did your lucky. He stepped it up 100 notches times 10. Instead of focusing on what he could make he saw with us an opportunity to save the relationship.

My husband and I consulted with Culver a couple of times during our case when our regular Van der Jagt attorney was unavailable (vacation, in court, etc.). Culver was patience personified, he took time to answer phone calls, even took the time to talk when I had to walk-in without an appointment a time or two. His professionalism, reassurance and answers to difficult questions helped to keep our spirits up during a hard 17-month case. Without the help of Culver, his lawyers, and the rest of his firm, we would have been floundering without a clear direction. His firm's prices are extremely reasonable and they don't bill for every little question, which given the length of our case, was greatly appreciated. Culver also helped my husband out with some advice regarding his ex-wife and saved us hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in unnecessary legal fees. There are many lawyers who will advise you to go ahead and file motions that aren't necessarily in the best interest of you and your family, whereas Culver's direct-speak approach and advice on the possible outcomes saved my husband from filing on an issue that probably wouldn't have gone anywhere and just needlessly aggravated the situation with his ex. Thanks to Culver, that situation didn't go from bad to worse. Attorneys aren't the ones, at the end of the day, who have to deal with the children involved in high-conflict divorces, but a good, caring, responsible attorney, who knows when to advise you NOT to file, can help your children and your family. Our consultations with Culver (and all his staff members) always helped us see the best possible picture for our kids. Culver, Paul, and his team did an excellent job for me throughout my extended divorce process. I highly recommend this firm for anyone that is going through this horrible process and wants to come through the other side with a smile on their face and maybe even some new friends. Unlike other divorce attorneys that treat this like a fee generating, paper-pushing process (e.g. the attorney I fired prior to engaging Culver, my ex-spouse's attorney, etc.); Culver understands that at the core of these matters are people, emotions, children, extended families, years of hard work, etc. He works with his clients and lets you be part of his legal team thereby enabling you to navigate a process that can quickly feel like you have no control over with other attorneys. Divorce is terribly invasive and frankly cruel depending on opposing counsel and their tactics; Culver knows most of these combatants through firsthand experience and is quick to develop tailored action plans that work perfectly to outwit their tactics.

My specific case was fairly complex and involved a substantial estate value. It was also against an opposing counsel (Gutterman and Griffiths) that is known to be incredibly aggressive, I believe horribly unethical, and difficult to reach a settlement with. If you find yourself against this Firm, Culver is definitely your best choice in Denver in my opinion. I originally engaged another highly touted law firm and found myself after 4-5 months spending close to $40-50K dollars, making no progress, and having NO idea where we were in terms of status or what our strategy was to close down the open points. I am certain had I stayed the course, I would have been in for another 100K and ended up with a less attractive settlement than I reached with Culver at the helm. I terminated their services, contacted Culver, and within weeks we were having our first settlement discussions with opposing counsel. It ultimately took another year to wrap the case but I ended up spending less with Culver than I did with my other counsel in their 4 months of wasted paper pushing and got treated like a real human being and am convinced that we ultimately achieved a more favorable outcome.

This is an especially good choice for clients that are somewhat capable themselves and are willing to do some of the administrative work associated with divorce to help keep their costs down. Other legal offices are more than happy to bill you thousands of dollars for things you can do yourself. Again, work with Culver and team and you will get a solution that is customized to your capability and situation.

My experience with Culver Van Der Jagt has always been highly professional and highly responsive. I had a significantly complex divorce that caused me to retain Culver on three occasions over a multiple year period as he helped me with divorce proceedings, domestic violence related issues and child custody issues. I decided to contact culver because of all the positive reviews, however after dealing with him I don't know how truthful or accurate they are. I met with the attorney and we discussed my case at which point he explained to me the different "packages" or services he offered one was a "tour" package and the other was full on hired I mentioned I wanted to hire him and he recommended I could do all the work myself because it was easy and he would just be in the background coching me through the paperwork so to take the "tour" package that way i wouldn't have to pay his $4000 to hire him until the case became more difficult I agreed since I figured he knew what he was talking about. HE WAS WRONG ! I did need him to attend a status conference with me, the petitioners attorney took full advantage and I couldn't defend myself because my attorney recommended I do it alone. I was made to sign some paper at culverts office that stated I did not have an attorney even though he was filling out my paperwork, after the status conference I immediately called the attorney I was hardly able to talk from him interrupting me to let me know what I was able and not able to say in the status conference THAT HAD ALREADY OCURRED we scheduled an appointment and I was unable to attend for medical reasons I called 30 prior to the scheduled time and also texted I called again at ten which was the scheduled time and no answer or reply still to this day (a week later) and no reply or answer. I would not recommend, trust me the last thing you need is an attorney unwilling to represent you, and guiding you into a disaster.
