Brian Fishman was referred to us by people on the 'inside' whom have worked with Mr. Fishman in the past. Being brand new to the 'system' and out of state- I had reservations. I looked up Mr. Fishmans reviews and gave him a call. After receiving a free consultation, that was not a 'wham bam thank you ma'am' - Mr. Fishman took time to explain how proceedings worked, and even offered information to me that I didn't even think to ask. He was very clear and confident about the information he was giving me and even gave me alternative options other then hiring himself (Public defender/ how bail options worked etc.) I didn't feel like I was being 'sold'. Nice reviews. It’s kind of upsetting how the majority of the reviews are positive and 5 star ratings, wow you people must have been very important or priority to this Lawyer. I don’t want to write a negative post but I wanted to post a truthful one from personal experience. I should have search more for a top defense attorney, I chose Fishman based on the great reviews, and thought my case will be priority as well like all of you but we were wrong. Two days after catching our case I hired Fishman. Paid him $750 to start my case. After paying this man he never followed up, or kept the family updated on the case. We left tons of messages for his assistant who is also very inconsistent and also doesn’t return calls, never received a call back. $750 down the drain, Fishman had a whole month to prepare prior to trial, to obtain all discovery and ensure our family that he will try to get the Earliest Date Possible but got us a trial date for 2 months out. Not to mention, after acknowledging that our court date was two months out We contacted the office right away, knowing our frustration the assistant should have been more understanding but she wasn’t. She specifically told us we cannot not call the office with a attitude basically, as if I didn’t pay this man $750 to start a misdemeanor case. Oh, it’s been weeks since pre trail still no call from Fishman. My family and I were fed up, but we kept our heads held high and scramble extra money to hire A new lawyer, so far he’s followed up consistently about our case and we feel at ease. With all of his clients we feel priority also. Our new Lawyer is actually doing what he was paid to do and he is a highly respected. Please do not let my review stop you from hiring lawyer in Philadelphia. Brian represented me last week against false criminal charges brought against me in Philadelphia. The two complainants wove a false narrative, perjuring and lying to the court and judge from the moment they opened their mouths to testify. At one point, Brian wanted to introduce evidence against the plaintiffs that the judge would not allow....even though Brian cited case law allowing this evidence to be seen/heard. Situation regarding retail theft with another defendant involved. I was so scared when I showed up to court the first time without an attorney the judge stated I was looking at 7years in prison and I asked the judge for more time to find an attorney. Hire this man! I was arrested for a first time DUI offense last year and I also refused the breathalyzer test while in custody. Having never dealt with the judicial system and never having faced criminal charges in my adult life, I was terrified of the potential consequences. I spoke with four different attorneys before I spoke with Brian. After my initial conversation with Brian, I immediately felt at ease. Unlike the first four attorneys I spoke with, he didn’t seem to be rushing the conversation nor was the subject of his fee one of the first things out of his mouth. He let me know that a chemical test refusal was one of the worst things you could do during a DUI arrest but also assured me that he would help me minimize those consequences as much as he could. I scheduled time to meet with Brian in person, he graciously agreed to stay at his office late in the evening to meet with me so I wouldn’t have to miss any work. In his office he spent over an hour discussing my case with my boyfriend and I. He also seemed interested to learn more about me as a person rather than just about my criminal case. Brian was caring, sympathetic, down to earth, knowledgeable and he has a great sense of humor. I hired him on the spot. His fee was more expensive than the other attorneys I’d spoken to but I wasn’t willing to gamble my life and future just to receive a bargain. You get what you pay for and I received first class treatment all the way! Sometimes bad things happen to good people for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I found myself on the wrong side of a jury not to long ago. So I was charged with a summary citation and was told by the officer there would be NO criminal record. To my shock I discovered that I would have a criminal record and it could not be expunged for another 5 years.

I found Brian and he did a free consultation. I had spoken to several other lawyers, but they were impatient and did not want to hear too many details.
Not Brian, he listened to in great detail every aspect of my situation and my case. This is before I even paid him one dime. I went in to meet him. He and his staff are incredibly warm and cordial. Brian is a meticulous person and covered every aspect of my case and defense.

He took all my calls and would answer every single question I had, never said he was busy or anything like that. In the courtroom he was very good, very tough and perceptive. He went after the prosecution's case on every point they tried to make.

When I was worried about my case he would give comfort and aid, me being the paranoid person I am. The judge gave a quick Not Guilty and we were done. Now my case is being expunged as we speak.

No record for me! Even though it was a small issue, Brian tried the case as if the stakes were high. He presented my defense, objected when the prosecution played with the truth, and was relentless in cross examination.

Simply stated, Brian has been a godsend to our family. About 9 months ago I was arrested on false domestic violence charges by a regularly violent and abusive girlfriend who came after me with a large knife and claimed I tried to strangle her to death. The charges I faced had possible career-ending consequences. After a Google search and calls to a number of attorneys, I spoke to Brian Fishman and was immediately impressed by the nature and depth of the questions he posed. The other lawyers I spoke to seemed as though they were offering me lip service by making promises with little information in order to get me into their office. I got no such feeling from Brian.

Brian exhibited great strategic skill and negotiating tactics when working with the assistant district attorney assigned to my case. After the ADA reviewed the evidence and spoke to the “victim,” Brian was able to arrange for the charges to be dropped in exchange for a fantastic plea deal that will allow me to expunge my record as though this ordeal never happened with nothing more than a year on probation. The day that I called Mr. Fishman was the worst day of my life. I was just discharged from hospital before I was arrested, and charged with assault and recklessly endangering another person. My preliminary hearing was couple days away, and I was 4 months pregnant, with no support system in the city. I had no idea what to do. Brian represented me on a Direct Violation Of My Probation Case which could have sent me back to jail. At the violation hearing my probation officer recommended for me to serve more jail time but Brian was able to get me out of that and keep me out of jail with a small probation term. I've had lawyers where I felt that after I paid them and they took my case then they disappeared. My name is Tyrone Woods I'm writing this review for Brian Fishman. Brian handled a case for my son in September 2012.When we walked into Brian's office he was very caring and concerned about not only our son but our whole family. He took his time and talked with us about our son's case and he was straight forward with us about what he was facing.He has away of making you feel as though you have know him for years, which makes it very easy to be up front and honest with him. The case my son caught was in Haverford Township Need I Say More? My son also had an open case and when we talked to Brian he explained exactly what would happen with his first case even though he wasn't representing him on that matter.He broke it down to us so that a five year old could understand what was happening. He answered all the question that we had. My wife calls, texts and e-mail Brian ( and I mean long texts and at all hours) and he has always responded to her in a timely fashion. He never made her feel that because the other case is over he's done with us. Instead, he continues to assist us and answers any questions my wife has, she has called him many times quite upset and he talks with her very commonly and patiently and makes sure she's at ease and understands exactly what's happening. One time our son was moved from Camp Hill and we had no ideal where he was. Brian took time out ( on a Friday evening) to locate him and put her at ease.
